One of our favorite parts of the PouchMates community is seeing the incredible bonds families build with their Sugar Gliders. This month, we’re excited to introduce our Sugar Glider of the Month: Minnie.
Minnie belongs to David B., and she was born on August 1, 2020. Over the years, Minnie has become much more than a pet. She’s become family.
When we asked David his favorite thing about Minnie, his answer was simple:
"The way she climbs on me and kisses me."
Moments like that are one of the reasons people fall so deeply in love with Sugar Gliders. These tiny companions build real bonds with their humans and often create routines and behaviors that feel incredibly personal.
Minnie’s favorite toy is her wheel, where she loves staying active and burning off energy. One of her favorite things to do is grooming David, which is actually a natural Sugar Glider behavior. In the wild, grooming is how they bond and show trust within their colony. Many Sugar Glider parents are surprised to discover just how affectionate and connected these little animals can become.
And of course, Minnie has favorite snacks too:

Just like people, Sugar Gliders each have their own personalities, preferences, and little quirks that make them unique.
Stories like Minnie’s give future owners a glimpse into what life with a Sugar Glider can look like: companionship, trust, fun personalities, and countless memorable moments.
